Hard-to-Find DDR4 SDRAM Components and New Flash eMMCs Added to Catalog
SMARTsemi has added 8Gb and additional 4Gb DDR4 SDRAMs, components that are hard to find today, as well has a host of eMMCs ranging from 2G to 16GB, addition more long lifecycle options for supply chain and sourcing managers.
NEWARK, Calif., August 24, 2025 – SMARTsemi®, a business unit of SMART Modular Technologies, Inc., a Penguin Solutions® brand, a provider of commercial, industrial, wide, and AEC-Q100 Grade 2 automotive grade Tier-1 memory components and cards for embedded applications, announced the addition of new DDR4 SDRAM and eMMC Flash memory products, extending supply options for supply chain management. All products are broadly industry-compatible, high-endurance, and high-performance.
DDR4 SDRAMs The supply chain of DDR4 SDRAMs was disrupted in early 2025 when top-tier suppliers announced a rapid exit from the market to realign production around DDR5 SDRAMs for servers and mobile markets. This left long-lifecycle applications using embedded DDR4 components without a supply. SMARTsemi is dedicated to that market segment and has added 3 new DDR4s to its catalog including new 4Gb (x16) components and an 8Gb (x16) component from Nanya. These are also the first components offered from SMARTsemi at higher 3200Mbps performance.
Flash eMMC 5.1
The new Flash eMMCs build on the existing offering, filling in gaps in 8GB and 16GB and pushing cost-effective low-density offerings down from 4GB down to 2GB. New products are offered in industrial and wide-temperature ranges and include 153-pin and 100-pin FBGA packaging.
